Johns Island

To the west of James Island is Johns Island, the largest Island in SC.  The island dates back several centuries as the site of several prominent plantations, producing much of the area's rice, indigo and cotton exports.  Farming still exists today and with the rise of locally produced fruits, meats and vegetables the island has experienced a rebirth in its historic function.  The island's close proximity to downtown Charleston and beautiful scenic property make it a prime location to live.
